Atlanta is home to a series of coding bootcamps developed by Trilogy Education Services and the Georgia Institute of Technology. These immersive web development coding bootcamps are available as part or full-time courses, and these courses cover a range of programming material. Georgia Tech’s coding bootcamps are fashioned off the same model used elsewhere by Trilogy Education Services, but each course is approved by the institute. Graduates of the coding bootcamp at Georgia Tech receive a coding certificate from the school, as well as access to career services and resources. Georgia Tech’s coding bootcamps are available to both students and non-students, and no prior coding experience is necessary to be admitted into the program. Georgia Tech also offers a data analytics bootcamp, a UX/UI design bootcamp, and a data analytics bootcamp, which is available on a part-time schedule.

Additional Info

During the full stack web development bootcamp, students cover more than a dozen coding languages and programming tools. These include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, ASP.Net, C#, jQuery, React.js, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, MySQL, Command Line, and Git. The data analytics bootcamp covers a different curriculum, but shares HTML, CSS, Git, and JavaScript. Other topics covered during the data analytics course include advanced Excel, social media mining, Tableau, SQL, Python, advanced statistics, APIs, machine learning, and more. The cybersecurity program covers Wireshark, Kali Linux, Nessus, Metasploit, and curriculum related to Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and CompTIA Security+ certification. The UX/UI bootcamp focuses on user experience and user interface design and programming. The curriculum covers practical HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery programming skills, along with wireframing, prototyping, storyboarding, visual design, and interface creating skills. Additional topics covered include Adobe XD, persona creation, UX interviewing, research practices, user need identification, and more.

The full stack web development coding bootcamp at the Georgia Institute of Technology is available in full and part-time schedules. The UX/UI (user experience/user interface) bootcamp, data analytics bootcamp, and the cybersecurity bootcamp are only available in part-time schedules. The full-time web development course runs for 12 weeks, from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. This is an accelerated program, designed for students seeking the shortest possible path through a web development education at the bootcamp. The part-time program schedule is less intensive, requiring a three-day-per-week commitment. Part-time students attend classes for 24 weeks, spending two weekdays in class from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Students can choose to attend weekday classes on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.

At this time, Trilogy Education Services and Georgia Tech’s bootcamp do not publish job placement or student outcome data. However, the program does offer career services to all students during the program. Additionally, students can use the experience they gain during the program to help create an entry-level portfolio before entering the workforce.

In the United States, coding bootcamps generally cost between $8,000 and $20,000 with exceptions across the board. Georgia Tech’s full-time and part-time programs cost $10,000 for the entire program. For the price, students receive a spot in the course. All courses at the Georgia Tech coding bootcamp cost $10,000 as of 2019.

This course allowed me to better understand the application used on a daily basis. I built a strong background learning how to install and configure computers and with this program I now understand how they all work. I was nervous at first, but the instructors were all great and I do not regret my decision. The Career advisors could do a little better with students and properly assiting them but again the program itself will alone help you. Building and creating are both ways to not only explore information but to instill real world applications that showcase and are used on a glabal scale, which is pretty amazing considering. Great overall experience.
